despite all the gaslighting, proof regarding the health of these
franchises can be found...at Ollies! Behold the devastation my
friends...this is why we don't piss off fans! #starwars #marvel #disney

Ollie's are always filled to the brim with Disney toys. These items are so
unpopular that they gather literal dust from not being moved for months, if
not years.
There are a many reasons why this stuff doesn't sell and clogs up
clearance shelves ... non of it to do with the idiotic idea of
"franchise fatique".
1. Hasbro makes far too much stuff, most of it pretty awful.
2. Hasbro lazily re-re-re-re-releases the same product in
different packaging and / or with slight paint / decal changes
(as well as "prototypes" with abhorent day-glow colour schemes).
3. The prices are getting ridiculously expensive. (NZ$30+ for a
standard 3 3/4" figure ... these used to be just NZ$10 years ago.)
It isn't just Hasbro though.
Dorling Kindersley is just as bad. They re-re-re-release the same book
with a couple of new pages and expect fans to keep buying every
release. They also release the exact same text and pictures in slightly
different book formats (different sizes).
The novel publishers also release the same novel in multple formats
(hardcover, large size, small size).
The comic book publishers release the comics in different formats too -
the individual volumes then the 'collection' sets, sometimes with extr
a"bonus" material added.
Lucasfilm themselves aren't much better either , especially since the
Disney takeover. It's anyone's guess how many times the Saga movies
have been re-re-re-released, again each time with slightly different
"bonus" material on the discs. Then there are numerous new movies and
spin-offs, some of which are awful "Politically Corect" nonsense.
