The Power of Kroll: A Lost Classic

Unfortunately, "The Power of Kroll" is one of the most infamous Doctor Who
stories due to the complete loss of its original visual recordings.
Only the audio tracks and some production stills remain.

While we can't assess the visual aspects of the story, we can delve into
what is known based on the audio and other available information.

Based on the audio and surviving materials, here's a general assessment:

Strong Audio Drama: The audio script is considered to be quite strong,
with a compelling story involving environmental conflict,
religious beliefs, and a monstrous creature.

Atmospheric and Tense: The audio effectively creates a sense
of atmosphere and tension, especially in the scenes involving
the Swampies and the rising of Kroll.

Key to Time Arc: As part of the Key to Time saga, it fits into
the overarching narrative and contributes to the overall mystery.

While we can't rate the visual impact or the overall production quality,
the audio evidence suggests that "The Power of Kroll" had the potential
to be a compelling and atmospheric story. It's a great shame that
the visual component is lost, as it could have added significantly
to the overall experience.

Would you like to know more about the efforts to recreate
"The Power of Kroll" using animation?

It's important to note that while the original story is lost,
there have been attempts to recreate the visual aspects through animation.
These animated versions can provide a glimpse into what the original might
have looked like.

Who here wants video copy?

No they aren't. I watched it in the early 1980's and watched it on Tubi last
weekend.

"The Power of Kroll" is not infamous and its episodes are not
missing. (Every Fourth Doctor story exists in full.)

So that's yet more AI generated mumbo-jumbo from the King of
Nonsense... who doesn't seem to care what he posts as long as it
adds to his post count.

So why does Gogole Gemini think it is a missing episode?
